Camp John Marc gives children and teens living with chronic medical and physical challenges the camp experience they deserve — 220 acres of adventure, friendship, and pure joy in Bosque County, Texas.
Every camp session is an extension of the medical care kids already receive. Our programs are designed alongside physicians, child life specialists, and health organizations — so parents can breathe easy while their kids go all in.
No two CJM programs look the same. Each one is carefully shaped around the needs of the kids it serves — because cookie-cutter camping doesn’t cut it here.
Ten week-long summer camps, each one tailored to a specific group of campers. Swimming, horseback riding, zip lines, fishing, arts — adapted so everyone can participate.
Entire families come to camp together. Siblings, parents, grandparents — everyone gets a break from the hospital routine and a chance to just be a family again.
Camp doesn’t end when summer does. Over 25 weekend programs keep the connection alive throughout the year — because the friendships made here aren’t seasonal.
Since 1991, Camp John Marc has been proving that the outdoors changes lives — one camper at a time.
The people who know Camp John Marc best are the ones who’ve lived it.
“I believe that I can best describe the impact that Camp John Marc had for our family in the following way: Some may wonder why we sent our daughter there when she was dying, and when we could have said no so she would have spent that week with us. The answer is rather simple… we sent her there to live.”
“I love camp so much because I feel like I can finally fit in. Everyone is like me and everyone is nice. Everyone helps me and I LOVE IT! I made many new friends and I am so excited that I get to go back.”
“This place must be magic because every time I come here I feel better.”
“Camp was a wonderful experience for me, because it gave me the opportunity to meet other kids who are dealing with/or have dealt with similar things that I have dealt with. It wasn’t until I had the opportunity to go to camp that I realized how many people have gone through the things that I have gone through in my life.”
“I never imagined Camp would teach me how to self-infuse and become so independent at a really young age… Big thanks for that one!”
Every activity at CJM is adapted so that every kid can participate — regardless of ability. That’s not an afterthought. It’s the whole point.
